So what’s been going on over all this time?  A helluva lot.

As a side note, you may notice that I have two badges to my SecondLife characters, Armand and Wildcat.  If you’re a SecondLife user or fan, have a look, give a like to the pages, and follow if you’d like.  Both of them are Gorean Scribes but from two different cities.  Sometimes I think their lives, albeit virtual, are more interesting than mine on a daily basis.

So events of the year so far:

I was unjustly accused of being racist at work, and threatening to boot, and suspended for 4 months while they wasted time with the investigation.  In the end, it was all sorted and I was vindicated.  To imagine that I would be accused of such a thing!

My partner is still doing home dialysis and I’ve been helping to get the machine set up for his sessions.  I didn’t quite know how I’d handle it when we first started last December, but I’ve gotten into the routine now.  I find it to be a lot easier and not as stressful as I’d imagined.  I just can’t put the needles in, he has to do that himself (probably safer for him too)

His mother was diagnosed with vascular dementia and the onset of Alzheimer’s disease so that’s been a rough road.  Couple that with his father being chair bound due to his bad legs, and it’s been a busy year for my partner and myself.

The day after I got suspended, I had my last session with my psychologist.  My PTSD is in full swing this week, so it’s been fairly unpleasant for me, but I’m managing on my own.  I still need to find care for this and get it managed better, so we’re investigating that.  Right now I just want to scream though.

Sleep has been horrendous lately.  I’m still waking up in pain.  I either feel like I’ve worked out for hours and hours or I feel like I’ve been beaten with a 2 by 4.  So far the doctors have been pretty useless to figure this one out, but since it’s been going on for over 30 years, it’s probably not their highest priority.  My partner seems to think it might be dehydration, and I think it’s got to do with my screwed up head.  We’re planning another appointment, we’ll see.

We had our vacation to Chicago this year (in July when I was suspended) and had a great time.  Tom and Swarup are the greatest for letting us stay with them and my sister and her boys were amazing to visit with.  I’m finding that I enjoy them more and more with each visit.

Next year we’re off to Grand Canaria.  That should be fun!

And now… back to work!  See ya!
